Synjuk condemns FIR against secretary of Nongsohphoh-Upper Mawprem Dorbar

By Our Reporter

SHILLONG, Sept 4: The Synjuk Ki Shiphew Dorbar Shnong, a conglomeration of ten Dorbar Shnongs under West Shillong constituency, has strongly condemned the FIR which has been filed against secretary of Dorbar Shnong Nongsohphoh-Upper Mawprem, Hardeep Ryntathiang, by a woman.
In a statement, the Synjuk Ki Shiphew Dorbar Shnong chairman, W Pyrbot, whilst casting aspersions on the state government, said that the woman, who is a drug peddler, did not even spare to accuse Dorbar Shnong.
“We would like the state government to take strong note of this and not to allow such people to play a spoilsport to the efforts of the various Dorbar Shnongs in the fight against drugs,” Pyrbot said.
According to him, the Dorbar Shongs have been working in tandem with the state government on various issues such as developmental programmes, the maintenance of peace and harmony, and in the fight against illegal immigrants and drugs.
“We are hopeful that the state government will take measures to protect the Dorbar Shnongs who have provided helping hands in its various endeavours,” Pyrbot said.
He also reiterated the importance of dealing strongly against people who are involved in illegal activities.
It may be mentioned that the Dorbar Shnong Nongsohphoh-Upper Mawprem had earlier strongly condemned the FIR against its secretary by a woman, accusing him of outraging her modesty.
The Dorbar Shnong had also dismissed these allegations as false and baseless, and an attempt to tarnish the image of Ryntathiang.
