MFA finalises district player transfers list for new season

Shillong, Sep 5: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) has finalised and released the list of players who have been approved for district transfers for the 2024 football season. In total, 122 players applied for and successfully completed their transfer formalities.
Among the most active teams in the transfer market were Meghalaya Police, affiliated with the Shillong Sports Association (SSA), and Niaw Wasa, part of the West Jaintia District Sports Association (WJDSA). Meghalaya Police signed eight new players, while Niaw Wasa added nine to their squad for the upcoming season.
SSA clubs were involved in significant player movement, with 23 players transferring out to other district associations, while 46 new players joined the SSA from various districts. The Pyndengumiong District Sports Association saw a notable change as well, with 17 players exiting and 18 new ones arriving. WJDSA had 14 players leave but welcomed a strong influx of 35 new players.
The finalized transfer list marks the beginning of a reshaped landscape for district football in Meghalaya as teams prepare for the 2024 season with fresh talent. These transfers are expected to strengthen various district teams across Meghalaya, creating a more competitive environment for the 2024 season.
