SHILLONG, Sep 6: The Shillong police on Friday said the arsonists who threw a kerosene bomb at the Rynjah Police Station would be caught.
Miscreants hurled a kerosene bomb at the entrance of the Rynjah Police Station on September 3. It was the second such attack after May 2.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said the miscreants could have attacked the police station again as it is located in a corner.
“We have registered a case and an investigation is in progress. We will get the culprits one day if not today or tomorrow,” he said.
The SP refused to attribute the failure in making arrests in the case to a manpower shortage.
“It takes at least three years to increase the manpower as it requires recruitment, training and probation. We will do our job with whatever manpower we have,” he said, adding that the police personnel will take action against anyone who commits a crime.
He claimed the police are trying to ensure the safety and security of the state’s citizens.
