Police seize illicit liquor in another crackdown in city

SHILLONG, Sep 7: The police have launched another major crackdown on illicit activities across Shillong, targeting the sale of illegal liquor and other unlawful practices.
East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger informed that the operation covered various areas within the city, including Sadar, Police Bazar, Polo, Mawblei and Madanrting.
As a result, authorities seized 70 litres of illicit Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 100 litres of country-made liquor.
Due legal procedures have been initiated following the seizures, the SP informed.
In addition to the liquor busts, the police also acted against unruly individuals to ensure safer roads for the public.
Meanwhile, police have further emphasised their commitment to continuing the crackdown on illicit liquor sales, drunken driving, and other illegal activities to maintain safety, security, and peace in the state capital.
