Rotary awards city teachers

SHILLONG, Sep 7: In a bid to recognise the contribution of teachers towards nation-building, the Rotary Club of Shillong honoured five Shillong-based teachers with the ‘Rotary Nation Builders Award’ during a programme here.
According to a statement, the recognition was accorded under mission TEACH, which is a flagship programme of Rotary India to eradicate illiteracy.
“The teacher awardees from different schools were selected based on the assessment and appraisal provided by the students who they teach in their respective schools,” the statement said.
The recipients of the award include Tiffany Mukhim from Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School, Donnette Sawian from Synod Higher Secondary School, Sanghita Dutta from Meghalaya Hindu Mission Higher Secondary School, Min Bahadur Chettri from Nongthymmai Nepali Higher Secondary School and Lucy Mary Syndor from St. Aloysius Secondary School.
