College honours 735 graduates

SHILLONG, Sep 8: Shillong College conducted its first-ever graduation ceremony on Saturday, honouring students who successfully completed their undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degrees in 2024.
During the ceremony, a total of 735 students were felicitated for completing their degrees in various streams, including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Master of Arts (MA).
In addition to the graduates, seven students who made it to the merit list were also recognized for their academic achievements. Among them, Ibanpyntngen Kshiar, who secured the top position in Hindi Honours, was awarded the prestigious Late SC Dutta Memorial Award.
The ceremony also saw the felicitation of Assistant Professor Kathleen G. Nengnong from the Education Department, who completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with a thesis titled “Status of Inclusive Education in the State of Meghalaya.”
Sohra MLA Gavin Mylliem, former IPS officer M Kharkrang, and college principal E Kharkongor were among the distinguished guests present to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
