Shillong, Sep 14: Teen sensation Jayden Pariat from Shillong continued his brilliant form in the Formula 4 Indian Championship by securing his second win of the season during the third round of the Indian Racing Festival at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday.
Representing Bangalore Speedsters, the 17-year-old national champion in the MRF F2000 class took a commanding lights-to-flag victory, leading from pole position and setting the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:40.459.
Pariat, who had earlier claimed victory in Round 1, left his competition in the dust, maintaining his lead throughout the race.
South African driver Aqil Alibhai, driving for Black Birds Hyderabad, held onto second place from the start but was unable to challenge Pariat’s dominant pace.
Further down the grid, Pariat’s Bangalore Speedsters teammate, 16-year-old Abhay Mohan from Bengaluru, made an impressive climb to secure third place. Starting from P5, Mohan quickly moved up the order after Veer Sheth (Ahmedabad Apex Racers) stalled at the start. Mohan then pressured Ruhaan Alva (Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers) before passing him to secure the final podium spot. Alva, despite showing early promise, eventually finished fifth.
In the JK Tyre-FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship, Coimbatore’s Bala Prasath took the top spot for Dark Don Racing after a race interrupted twice by Safety Car deployments. Bengaluru’s Tijil Rao finished second, with Ahura Racing’s Chetan Surineni rounding out the podium.
