Five family members killed on suspicion of witchcraft
SUKMA, Sep 15:Five members of a family, including two couples, were allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of practising witchcraft in a village in Chhattisgarh’s tribal-dominated Sukma district on Sunday, police said.Five persons, all from the same village, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder and there might be more arrests, he said.The accused brutally attacked the victims with sticks leading to their death on the spot, he said. More arrests might be made, the official said.According to official sources, for the last few months, a child or a man was dying almost every week in the village and the residents blamed the victims’ family for the deaths.The residents told police that they believed the victims’ family used witchcraft to target those who became economically sound in their village, they said.Except for two children, the other five members of the family have been murdered by the accused. Six minors held for murder of teenager
BHADOHI, (UP) Sep 15: Six minors have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old boy.The incident occurred allegedly due to a love triangle involving a teenage girl and three of the suspects.The body of one Shiv Shankar Prajapati was found strangled in a field in Khetalpur village on Friday morning.A liquor bottle was discovered at the scene.The group lured Shiv Shankar to a liquor shop under a false pretext. After getting him heavily intoxicated, they strangled him with a rope, police said. During questioning, the suspects admitted to the crime, stating that they targeted the victim because of his romantic involvement with the teenage girl. (PTI)

Mob beats up biker after he attacks woman with helmet
MUMBAI, Sep 15: A mob beat up a motorcyclist after he allegedly pushed a woman pedestrian and attacked her with his helmet in an incident of road rage in south Mumbai,on Sunday.The police arrested the biker, Shahen Alam Sheikh (33), and later released him after serving him a notice following the attack on Saturday night, an official said.The woman was waiting for a taxi when the accused, who was on his motorcycle, hit her leg.After the woman reprimanded him, the accused started verbally abusing her, pushed her on the road and hit her on the head with his motorcycle helmet.A mob soon gathered at the spot and started beating up Sheikh, who attempted to flee, claiming that he was in the police force.Police soon intervened and saved Sheikh from the mob’s clutches.
