Teen dies by suicide in Tura

Tura, Sep 16: A 17-year-old resident of Mukdangra in South West Garo Hills died by suicide on Monday in her rented accommodation in the Gandrak Dare locality in Tura, West Garo Hills.
As per reports, it was the homeowner who informed that the girl had locked herself in her rented accommodation.
Upon receiving information, a team from Chandmary Police Station reached the spot for an inquiry after which the door was broken down only to find the lifeless body of the 17-year-old girl.
Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the Tura Women’s Police Station and an officer has been deputed to take necessary action.
“At present, the deceased has been shifted to the Tura Civil Hospital morgue. However due to bad light, an inquest could not be performed. The same will be conducted tomorrow,” informed Superintendent of Police (in-charge), Jerry Marak.
