Road closure
The road from Laitsohpliah to Sohra will be temporarily closed from 5:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday in view of the 3rd Sohra International Half Marathon. This was informed by the organising committee of the event.
Birth anniv
The Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, will celebrate the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and hold a prize distribution ceremony of the 14th Inter Shillong Cultural Event 2024 from 2:30 pm on Sunday at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Auditorium, Shillong. According to a statement here, the programme will be attended by local MLA Sanbor Shullai as the chief guest and Padma Shri Silbi Passah as the guest of honour.
Corrigendum
In the news item published in this paper on September 19 under the caption “HNYF members among four held for extortion bid”, the name of the group HNYM (Hynniewtrep National Youth Movement) was erroneously mentioned as HNYF (Hynniewtrep National Youth Front). The inadvertent error is regretted.
