Badminton challenge starts in city

Shillong, Sep 24: As part of celebrating the Autumn Festival and promoting badminton and good health, the Shillong Badminton Coaching Centre is organising the Shillong Autumn Open Badminton Challenge 2024.
The tournament kicked off at JN Indoor Stadium on Tuesday with 62 participants in the under-13, under-15, under-17 and under-19 categories for both boys & girls in both single & doubles events.
The badminton challenge will conclude on Saturday whereby the veterans under 35+, 45+, 55+ and 60 years old categories will be taking in the final two days. Veteran Players from Guwahati and other cities from Northeastern states will also compete in the Challenge. The tournament is supported by Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Meghalaya Tourism, Wellness Club, Futsal, Umroi, Ri Bhoi District and other well wishers.
The tournament was opened by Rajesh Kamal, General Secretary MSBA.
