SHILLONG, Sep 24: The state government has established a special committee to review and assess proposals submitted to the Revenue and Disaster Management department regarding changes in land use. This new body aims to streamline decision-making and ensure timely processing of cases.
The Committee will be chaired by the Commissioner and Secretary of the Urban Affairs department, with a Co-Chairperson, a Member Secretary, and four other members. The primary task of the committee is to evaluate the feasibility of each proposal, helping the Revenue and Disaster Management department handle cases more efficiently.
According to the plan, the Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management department will regularly present all land use change cases, including pending ones, to the committee for monthly review, ensuring swift examination and decision-making.
