Pine Mount, All Saints Diocesan shine in 1st Inter-School TT C’ship

Shillong, Sept 27: The 1st Inter School Table Tennis Championship 2024 concluded with Pine Mount School and All Saints Diocesan Higher Secondary School taking top honours in their respective categories. The event, held at the Laban Sports Club Indoor Stadium, saw enthusiastic participation from several schools across Shillong.
In the Under-15 Girls category, Pine Mount School clinched the first position, led by the brilliant performances of Shriya Thapa and Saachi Mizar. Anderson Higher Secondary School secured the second spot, with team members Adorabella Khariana, Lancyra R Maak, Daphibankmen Sohshang, and Naphibanroi Nongphud contributing significantly to their team’s success.
The Under-15 Boys category was dominated by All Saints Diocesan Higher Secondary School, represented by Ansh Rai, Debobrata Paul, and Divyanshu Paul, who showcased excellent teamwork and skill. BK Bajoria Higher Secondary School finished as runners-up with commendable performances from Dhruv Dey, Sagnik Choudhury, and Rachit. Risa Higher Secondary School came in third, with key contributions from Kamkholen Lhouvum, U Thowai Merma, and U Shingshing Marma.
In the Under-19 Boys category, All Saints Diocesan Higher Secondary School emerged victorious once again, with Ansh Rai, Debobrata Paul, and Divyanshu Paul leading their team to success. BK Bajoria Higher Secondary School secured second place, while St. Anthony’s High School finished third, thanks to strong performances from H. Vanlalruata, Kupuka H Zhimomi, M. Hamarbabiang Tariang, and Daiwik Chanda.
The title of Most Promising Player of the Tournament was awarded to Wangden Lama for his exceptional talent and potential throughout the competition.
The closing ceremony was a grand affair, marking the end of a highly competitive and successful tournament. The event provided a fantastic platform for young talents to shine and develop their skills in table tennis.
