Sammy Ornella Hua has been awarded PhD in Mass Communication and Journalism by Amity University, Mumbai, for her thesis titled ‘Social Media as a Tool to Create Health Awareness in Meghalaya: Prospects and Challenges’, which she completed under the supervision of Dr. Nima John, Officiating Head of Institution of Amity School Of Communications and Amity Film School. She is the daughter of Dr. I. Tongper and Leioka Hua, and a resident of Khimusniang, Jowai.
