EKH emerge winners at M’laya Kickboxing Championship

Shillong, Sep 30: The Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organizations (MAKO) recently hosted the 27th Meghalaya State Level Kickboxing Championship, 2024, at the MSMA Training Centre Headquarters in Laitkor Kynton-U-Mon on September 27 and 28.
The event saw around 100 participants from East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, and East Jaintia Hills districts compete for top honors. Ultimately, kickboxers from East Khasi Hills claimed the Championship title, while East Jaintia Hills finished as runners-up.Bajoplin Kharmudai attended the championship as the chief guest, adding prestige to the event.
The championship served as a platform for MAKO to shortlist kickboxers for the upcoming Regional and National Championships, scheduled for November and December of 2024.
MAKO’s president announced that a selection camp would be conducted before finalizing the team that will represent Meghalaya in these future competitions.
The 27th Meghalaya State Level Kickboxing Championship not only celebrated the talent and dedication of the athletes but also provided a stepping stone for those aiming to compete on a larger stage.
