Meghalaya to use QR Code to boost revenue from liquor trade in state

Shillong, Oct 1: The Meghalaya Government is planning  to introduce use of QR Code technology on liquor being sold in the State as the state excise department aim to boost revenue earning to the tune of Rs 500 crores from the sale of liquor this financial year.

Informing this here on Tuesday, Cabinet Minister, Kyrmen Shylla said that the idea of having hologram has done its job of plugging the leakage but yet the government is not satisfied and after seeing the new technology, they have decided to introduce QR code on liquor bottles
