JOWAI, Oct 5: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar visited the Namdong Community Health Centre(CHC) in West Jaintia Hills on Friday to assess its condition and address concerns. Accompanied by Namdong Headman DS War, Secretary Serus Lipon, and other village leaders, Dhar met Dr Arda Laloo, the in-charge of the CHC, and the medical staff to discuss the centre’s needs.
During the visit, the CHC staff presented a letter outlining its shortcomings, including the need for more doctors, staff nurses, and equipment. Dhar assured the community that steps would be taken to address these issues, including the recruitment of personnel, paving the road to the CHC, providing an ambulance, and repainting the building and staff quarters.
In addition to the CHC visit, Dhar inspected the site for the construction of the Namdong C&RD Block office, stating that the new block would soon be fully operational, allowing residents to access services locally instead of traveling to the Thadlaskeiñ Block.
