New headman
Dorbar Shnong Nongsohphoh Upper Mawprem, in a meeting held recently in the presence of the Seng Longkmie and Seng Samla, elected Hardy Ryntathiang as the new Rangbah Shnong of the locality and Richmond Kharbudon as general secretary. The former Rangbah Shnong Johny Kharmawlong was elected as the chairman of the Dorbar Shnong.
Condolence
Members, staff and ‘Purohits’ (priests) of Matri Mandir, Polo Ground, have condoled the demise of former general secretary of the Mandir, Hironmoy Sen, who passed away in Kolkata on October 11. He served as the Mandir’s general secretary from 2003 to 2007. He was a retired employee of AG office Shillong.
Competition

Unclaimed body
A male patient named Arjit Kumar (50) from Lawsohtun Block-4, Shillong, was admitted to Civil Hospital Shillong on September 23 afternoon. The patient, however, expired on Monday (October 21) morning. In this connection, the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital Shillong, has asked the relatives or concerned persons to collect the body from the hospital morgue within three days or it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
