Union Minister Giriraj Singh to visit state on October 25, 26

SHILLONG, Oct 23: Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, is set to make an official two-day visit to Meghalaya from October 25 to 26.
On the first day of his visit, the Union minister will inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at Umsawli and attend its convocation ceremony. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, are also scheduled to attend the event.
Later in the day, Singh will visit Ri-Bhoi district to review the Aspirational District Programme and assess the implementation of various central government schemes. He will also meet the district administration officials to discuss ongoing developmental initiatives.
The next day, Singh will visit the Eri Silk Village in Umden, where he will interact with local weavers, artisans, and tourism stakeholders. He will also visit beneficiaries in key locations, including the Umkon-1 Anganwadi Centre and Marngar Primary Health Centre.
