In the poster competition, Nakitatori M. Kharsyntiew of St. Anthony’s College secured first place, followed by Carolisa Marak from Mendipathar Government College in second place, and Cleric Jayden Wanniang of BK Bajoria School in third. The slogan competition saw Lahun Khyriem of BK Bajoria School taking first place, Aryan Sinha of Shillong in second, and Ramesh Ranjan Yadav of St. Anthony’s College in third.
Brig. Vijayant Mahadik, Group Commander of NCC Headquarters Shillong, served as the chief guest of the event, which was attended by Fr. Arcadius Puwein, SDB, PhD, Principal of St. Anthony’s College, along with faculty members, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) from various colleges and schools, and approximately 800 cadets from Shillong.
NCC Army officers from the Shillong Group Headquarters were also present. The Trailblazers performed a skit aimed at raising awareness on the dangers of drug abuse.
The initiative trained NCC cadets of the college as Trailblazers to lead a campaign engaging students and faculty in activities and discussions to increase awareness of the harmful effects of drug abuse.
