TURA, Oct 31: Social activist from South Garo Hills Greneth M Sangma has urged Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma to simplify the process for obtaining Income Certificate by students who are applying for scholarships.
In his appeal to Sangma, Greneth, while expressing appreciation for extending the last date for the submission of scholarship applications, urged that the process for obtaining the Income certificate be made simpler, by way of enabling them to submit their parents’ IDs or a single document as address proof, along with their study proof.
“Many students face harassment and difficulties while obtaining Income certificates from district officers who demand numerous documents such as pattas, PAN cards, IDs and more. This cumbersome process delays their admission to Universities as well as scholarship disbursement,” Greneth stated.
