These pictures depict the pitiable condition of National Highway 6 in Jaintia Hills. The highway is the lifeline of Meghalaya and several states including Mizoram, Tripura and Barak Valley in Assam. In spite of a PIL being filed in the High Court of Meghalaya and promises by the government, the highway remains in a sorry state, causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters.
