Shillong, Nov 4: The small stretch of road passing through Harijan Colony in the heart of the city was opened for traffic today.

The road was closed for traffic movement in the year 2018 after the area was faced with serious law and order problem following violent clashes.

The District administration of the East Khasi Hills last week ordered reopening of the road in the colony to allow vehicular movement.

Authorities have deployed additional security and traffic personnel to the area.
