AR IG’s Conference in city stresses on security

SHILLONG, Nov 7: The Assam Rifles Inspector General’s Conference 2024 took place on November 6 and 7 at the Directorate General Assam Rifles Headquarters in Laitkor, Shillong. Chaired by Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, the conference gathered Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers from Assam Rifles headquarters and formations.
Lieutenant General Lakhera praised the force’s professional conduct and performance in challenging environments, underscoring the importance of maintaining security at the Indo-Myanmar border. He urged Assam Rifles personnel to remain prepared for future security challenges.
Key discussions focused on enhancing Assam Rifles’ combat capabilities, acquiring next-generation weapons and equipment, sharing best practices, and strengthening training and skill development for soldiers.
The Director General commended commanders for maintaining peace and urged vigilance given the dynamic conditions in the region.
