M’laya bank wins natl accolade for 3rd straight year

SHILLONG, Nov 11: The Meghalaya Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd. (MCAB) has won the third prize for the “Overall Best Performance under Two Tier Structure for the Financial Year 2023-24” at the pan-India level. This honour, awarded by the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB), highlights MCAB’s strong track record in cooperative banking. The formal award ceremony is scheduled to take place in New Delhi later this month.
This national accolade marks the third consecutive year that MCAB has achieved high recognition in this category, previously winning first place in 2021-22 and second place in 2020-21.
With over 50 years of service, MCAB has become a vital financial institution in Meghalaya, providing a comprehensive range of banking services through its state-wide network of branches. The bank offers electronic and digital banking solutions, including ATMs, mobile banking, and UPI services. Notably, MCAB is a direct member of the Centralised Payment Systems, having its own IFSC code. Additionally, since 2019, the bank has held the distinction of being listed in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, marking a significant milestone in its history.
