Kayleigh Petra named Judge at Asian Climbing Championship

Shillong, Nov 14: Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih, Assistant Secretary of the Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA), has been appointed as a judge for the 2024 IFSC Asian Youth Climbing Championship, which kicked off Thursday in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The appointment was announced today by MeSCMA President Malviancy Shabong, who congratulated Nongkynrih on her selection as a judge by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). A resident of Upper Lumparing in Shillong, Nongkynrih will serve as part of the judging panel for the prestigious event, which runs through November 17.
Thirteen countries are competing in this year’s championship, with India fielding a team of 31 climbers. As the apex body for mountaineering and sport climbing in India, the IMF oversees regulations for climbing activities nationwide and represents India in international competitions, including the Olympics.
