Relief work
Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, through its ‘Lend Thy Hand’ group, conducted the first phase of winter relief work on Friday at Umsning block, Umiam, during which several blankets were distributed to the beneficiaries. According to a statement here, the winter relief work was conducted to support poverty-stricken people to survive in the harsher winters. “Volunteers, including members of the ‘Lend Thy Hand’ team, played a pivotal role in identifying beneficiaries, organising logistics and ensuring a smooth distribution process. The efforts were supported by the village headman, local volunteers, and other community stakeholders,” the statement said.
