Nongpoh MLA reviews urban devp projects

NONGPOH, Nov 16: As part of efforts to ensure effective implementation of Urban Affairs department schemes in Nongpoh’s urban areas, Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem conducted an inspection on Thursday, accompanied by officials from the department and local community leaders.
Since 2018, the Urban Affairs department has initiated several development projects in Nongpoh under the Infrastructure Development (ID) scheme, including the construction of footpaths, motorable roads, retaining walls and other infrastructure enhancements.
Thursday’s inspection covered completed projects in Mawdiangum, Pahamsyiem and Nongpoh.
Addressing media persons, Syiem expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of these projects.
He commended the dedicated efforts of the department officials, contractors and community leaders who were instrumental in implementing these government schemes for public benefit.
Syiem also encouraged residents to continue working with local leaders, particularly in facilitating land clearance for the expansion of village roads and other projects.
He stressed that such cooperation is essential to sustaining growth that benefits the entire community.
