SHILLONG, Nov 26: The Meghalaya BJP on Tuesday asked the Ministry of Education to accord priority to the issues afflicting NEHU and take immediate steps to address them.
This comes after a State BJP delegation led by party president Rikman G Momin, and consisting of senior leader AL Hek and spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang met Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan and MoS, Sukanta Majumdar in New Delhi.
“We urge you to prioritise NEHU and take immediate steps to address these pressing issues. A timely intervention is crucial to restore the university’s reputation and ensure a conducive learning environment for its students,” read the memorandum submitted by the BJP delegation to the Ministry of Education.
Kharkrang said, “We apprised the ministers of whatever is happening in NEHU and requested them to resolve the issues as early as possible.”
He said that they were told that the Ministry will go through the findings of the two-member probe committee and take necessary action in this regard.
