Kharlukhi to raise coal mining issue in Parl

SHILLONG, Nov 29: NPP’s Rajya Sabha member, WR Kharlukhi is set to move a zero hour notice in the ongoing session of Parliament on resumption of coal mining in Meghalaya.
“I will be raising a zero hour notice on coal as this is an issue which has affected the people of the state, especially in Jaintia Hills,” Kharlukhi said.
Pointing out that the process for scientific mining of coal is on, he said, “The ban has affected not just the economy but also the people to a large extent, primarily in Jaintia Hills.”
