Avaneesh clinches top spot in Guwahati Chess Classics

GUWAHATI, Dec 1: Avaneesh Kashyap, a budding chess talent from Guwahati, secured the first position in the U-9 boys category at the 24th Guwahati Chess Classics.The tournament, organised by the NE Chess India, was held in Guwahatiand saw participants participate in the Under-7 and Under-9 categories.A class 3 student of Montfort school, Guwahati.His remarkable performanceacross five rounds of the Swiss-system format demonstarted his strategic acumen and poise under pressure.
The tournament is supported by the Indian Chess Federation(IND), the tournament showcased young talents from across the Northeastern region.
