Miscreants rob couple on the road
A woman lodged a complaint that on Nov 26 at about 4.30 am, masked miscreants (5-6 of them), in a Maruti vehicle, waylaid the vehicle (ML-04D-0365) of the complainant’s husband Poibha Suiam (27), assaulted him and robbed him of Rs 2.9 lakh at Mynsngat village in West Jaintia Hills. In the incident, Poibha Suiam sustained injuries and was shifted to Nartiang PHC from where he was referred to Woodland Hospital, Sabah Muswang.

Bangla natls apprehended
On November 26, around 4.30 am, acting on inputs, police along with Bashan Lyngdoh, Myntri of Kyrdoh village in East Khasi Hills, detained three suspected Bangladeshi nationals — Umar Farook (18), Md. Sajid (18) and Md. Iman Ali (30) — who were travelling in a bus on Kyrdoh bridge, without valid documents. On the same day, around 11.40 am, police and BSF personnel apprehended two more Bangladeshi nationals — Taharul Islam (23) and Mohamad Syed (30) — from Dalugaon area of West Garo Hills, and recovered two Aadhaar cards, three mobile phones, and Indian currency worth Rs 4020, a flight ticket, and other items from their possession.

Staff makes off with sale money
Sanjay Das lodged a complaint against his marketing representative Paras Thapa (37) for failing to hand over the sale proceedings of mobile phones amounting to Rs 12.15 lakh. Further, on November 25, the complainant learnt that Paras Thapa left Shillong for Siliguri, West Bengal.

A woman from Shillong lodged a complaint that on November 11, unknown person(s) cheated her of Rs 1 lakh, in an offer for work-from-home job, which she received through ‘Telegram App’.

Shillong woman conned in UP
A female resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on November 20, unknown person(s) cheated her of Rs 2,020, while booking a hotel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Vehicle vandalised, items stolen
Martin Nongkhlaw lodged a complaint that on November 26, around 9.20 pm, miscreant(s) vandalised his vehicle (ML-05X-1788), which was parked outside the Shillong Press Club gate and stole two laptops, etc.

Shanboklang Syiemlieh lodged a complaint that on November 15, one Remote Radio Unit valued around Rs 1.5 lakh was found missing from a tower site at Mawthengkut village in West Khasi Hills.
