M’aya’s 60-plus veterans table tennis team win 3 Gold at NE event

Shillong, Dec 1: The 60-plus veteran Meghalaya team won three gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the North East Masters Table Tennis Tournament 2024 in Kohima, which concluded on November 30.
The three-day event began on Thursday and Meghalaya’s 60-plus team had its most successful outing, having never won so many medals, especially gold.
Meghalaya won gold the team event, where the team beat Mizoram 3-1 in the final.
The second gold for the team came in the men’s doubles final, which was an all-Meghalaya affair, with the pair of Santanu Ghosh and RB Das winning against AG West and Harendra Singha.
In the men’s singles final, Ghosh defeated Singha, again in an all-Meghalaya final.
The bronze medal came in mixed doubles, where Ghosh had partnered with Shyamali Banik of Tripura.
