AAP MLA Naresh Balyan held under MCOCA
NEW DELHI, Dec 4: The Delhi Police on Wednesday rearrested Aam Aadmi Party’s Naresh Balyan under MCOCA minutes after he secured bail in connection with an extortion case. After the Rouse Avenue Court allowed his bail application in the extortion case, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested the AAP leader within the court premises and took him to its office.Balyan was arrested on November 30 following the release of audio clips allegedly featuring him in a conversation with gangster Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu. The clips purportedly reveal plans to threaten and extort money from Delhi’s builders and others. (IANS)
Property dealer killed by man he hired to eliminate business partner
DEHRADUN, Dec 4: A Dehradun-based property dealer was killed by a man he had hired to eliminate his business partner, police said. Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.Manjesh Kumar (42) hired Arjun Kumar (30) to kill his business partner Sanjay Singh alias Fauji, however, the hitman later disclosed the plot to him.Sanjay Singh then offered the hitman Rs 10 crore to kill Kumar instead, the police added.Lured by the money, the contract killer, Arjun Kumar (30) , invited Manjesh Kumar to a party on November 29.After offering him drinks, Arjun and Sachin strangled Manjesh Kumar to death and fled, the body was recovered the following morning from Sachin’s house, the police said.The police arrested Arjun Kumar from Sonipat while SAchin was arrested from Asharodi checkpost in Dehradun while trying to flee. Bengal govt removes CID chief
KOLKATA, Dec 4: The West Bengal government on Wednesday removed IPS officer R Rajasekaran from the post of CID chief and appointed him as ADG Training, a senior officer said.The development came days after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she would initiate a total overhaul of the state probe agency.The government is yet to name the successor of Rajasekarn who was appointed as the Additional Director-General (ADG) and IGP of West Bengal CID in May 2022. 12-yr-old held for Class-6 student’s death in Delhi private school
NEW DELHI, Dec 4: A day after a 12-year-old student of Class-6 died following a minor scuffle at a private school in the national capital, Delhi Police has apprehended a classmate of the deceased in connection with the case, officials said on Wednesday.Hundreds of people protested outside Chinmaya Vidyalaya in southwest Delhi after the mysterious death of Prince, following a minor scuffle with his classmates on Tuesday.A scrutiny of CCTV footage from the school showed some boys fighting with each other after the morning assembly, police said. Police apprehended a 12-year-old boy studying in the same class as the victim.Police said the hospital informed that Prince was brought dead there, the officer said.(PTI)
