Shillong hosts roundtable on Indo-Pacific ties

SHILLONG, Dec 4: Think tank Asian Confluence hosted a high-level roundtable discussion titled ‘Strengthening Strategic Partnerships in the Indo-Pacific Region’, which featured prominent speakers, including British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, and Principal Secretary and Development Commissioner, Government of Meghalaya, Sampath Kumar.
The discussions focused on strengthening Indo-British partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region, with a special emphasis on the Northeast’s role in connecting South and Southeast Asia.
Climate change, cross-border connectivity, and sustainable regional integration were key topics of discussion. Opportunities for collaboration in higher education and healthcare were also highlighted as vital avenues for strengthening people-to-people connections and enhancing regional capacity.
