Competition
In a bid to raise awareness on the maintenance of cleanliness at different tourist sites in East Khasi Hills, the District Tourism Promotion Society will organise a poster competition and award for the Cleanest Tourist Spot in the district. In this regard, interested participants have been asked to contact Adrian Steve West Shullai, Project Coordinator, INI Design Studio, at 8794875225 for registration or additional information. The deadline for the same is December 16.

Unclaimed body
On Thursday afternoon, an unidentified male body, which was in a decomposed state, was found afloat Kai Duma river under Umpleng Police Outpost, East Jaintia Hills. Accordingly, inquest and autopsy were conducted and the body has, meanwhile, been kept at the morgue in Khliehriat CHC for identification and claim. According to a statement here, the deceased is aged approximately 35-45 years, is approximately 5.6 ft tall, has a swarthy complexion, round face, black hair and was found wearing violet colour undergarment. Meanwhile, all concerned have been asked to contact 9774104124 for identification and claim of the body.
