Sanbor donates Rs 6 L to church committees in South Shillong

SHILLONG, Dec 7: In a gesture to promote peace and harmony and ensure the joyous celebration of Christmas, South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai on Saturday distributed Rs 6 lakh to various Church Committees within his constituency.
The financial assistance, drawn from Shullai’s salary, was handed over to the Church Committees during a pre-Christmas celebration organised by the MLA.
Addressing the gathering, Shullai emphasised the importance of fostering peace and harmony among all castes and communities.
He highlighted that Christmas is a festival that transcends religious boundaries and is celebrated by people from diverse backgrounds. He also pledged to continue supporting the community to ensure a hassle-free and joyous Christmas for everyone.
The event featured carol singing and a performance by Shipara, a local band of talented young musicians, adding vibrancy to the celebrations.
