MIDC receives award at Guwahati event

SHILLONG, Dec 8: The Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (MIDC) was conferred the National Award for Outstanding Performance at the 10th National Awards function of the Council of State Industrial Development & Investment Corporations of India (COSIDICI) on Friday.
The event, held at the Auditorium of the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati, recognised MIDC for its successful turnaround strategy that prioritised financial discipline, operational efficiency, and industrial growth.
Addressing the gathering as the guest of honour, MIDC chairman James Sangma said, “In the past year and a half, we have made significant efforts to ensure that MIDC not only becomes financially viable but also sets quality benchmarks as an industrial and investment corporation.”
He highlighted the strategic initiatives implemented by the MIDC, including prudent financial practices, stringent compliance measures, collaborative team efforts and streamlined operational workflows. “Today’s award is a recognition of the series of strategic initiatives we have implemented,” he added.
The event was attended by Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, along with other distinguished officers and dignitaries involved in State-Level Financial Institutions (SLFIs) and industrial promotion initiatives.
