Cops nab man for threatning message to PM
Mumbai, Dec 9: A 37-year-old man was held from Ajmer in Rajasthan for allegedly sending a message to the Mumbai traffic police helpline threatening to harm Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an official said on Monday. Jharkhand resident Mohammad Nadim Baig Mirza was held by a team of Worli police, the official added. “Our probe has found Mirza, who works as a turner in a private firm, was angry as its owner asked him to go home for coming to work after consuming alcohol. In anger, he sent the threat message against the PM to the Mumbai traffic police helpline on Saturday. A case was registered at the time with Worli police station.” (PTI)

2 students plunge to death in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 9: Two students died after falling from the fourth floor of their PG (paying guest) accommodation in Delhi’s Rohini on Monday, an official said. The police had earlier said the students had jumped from the fourth floor. The deceased have been identified as Ishaan, a resident of Bharatpur, Rajasthan, and Harsh, a resident of Delhi’s Palam Colony, the official said. (PTI)

Man kills wife after heated argument
Mahoba, Dec 9: A 33-year-old man allegedly killed his wife following a heated argument between them, police said on Monday. The incident took place in Mohalla Sattipura of City Kotwali area. The couple had three children together, a senior officer said. Additional Superintendent of Police said, “There was an argument between Mahendra Kumar (33) and his wife Meera on Sunday and Mahendra crushed his wife’s head with a stone, killing her on the spot.” (PTI)

Pak intruder shot dead by BSF troops
Chandigarh, Dec 9: A suspected Pakistani intruder was shot dead along the International Border in Punjab’s Amritsar district, a BSF spokesperson said on Monday. The incident happened in the border area near Mahawa village Sunday night when BSF troops noticed some suspicious movement. “During the night hours, alert BSF troops on duty observed suspicious movement of a Pakistani intruder, who surreptitiously crossed the international boundary and started approaching the border security fence taking advantage of the darkness,” said the spokesperson. “Noticing his aggressive move, the troops on duty fired upon the advancing intruder, neutralizing him on the spot,” said the spokesperson. 20 cows die, many fall sick; Hindu bodies protest
Phagwara, Dec 9: Twenty cows died and 28 fell sick at a shelter here, triggering protests by various Hindu bodies who alleged that their feed was poisoned and called for a bandh on Monday. Officials, however, said no malafide motive is suspected behind the incident. An FIR has been registered in the matter and it is being investigated from all angles, a police officer said on Monday. A large number of activists from Hindu bodies took out a protest march in various markets. Former Union ministers and BJP leaders, AAP MP, and other leaders visited the cow shelter. (pti)
