SHILLONG, Dec 10: A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Shillong made an emergency landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Monday morning due to a technical issue.
Officials from Shillong Airport stated that the diversion was due to operational concerns. However, reports suggest the aircraft developed a technical glitch mid-flight after its cockpit windshield was struck by a bird.
The incident occurred around 8:52 am and concluded without any injuries or harm to the 80 passengers and crew onboard. The captain alerted air traffic control, activating emergency protocols to ensure a safe landing at Patna airport.
As a precautionary measure, the flight, originally bound for Shillong, was diverted, and alternative arrangements were made to facilitate the passengers’ onward journey.
