National Lok Adalat hears 868 cases

SHILLONG, Dec 14: A total of 868 cases were taken up, comprising 517 pre-litigation and 351 pending cases, during a National Lok Adalat organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority. Out of these, 159 cases were successfully settled, resulting in a total compensation of Rs 1.43 crore.
The National Lok Adalat was conducted under the guidance of Justice IP Mukerji, Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya, and Justice HS Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya.
