Participants of an alumni meet organised by the Shillong Vidyalaya Alumni
Association pose for a group pictire, at Srimanta Sankardev Secondary School, Marngar, Ri-Bhoi on Sunday. Held on the theme ‘Looking Back at our beginning’, the meet witnessed the felicitation of the first three batches (1964, 1965 and 1966).

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
