SHILLONG, Dec 27: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office Tura, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organised a cleanliness drive-cum-awareness programme at its office campus in Dakopgre, Tura, West Garo Hills.
According to a statement here, the programme was attended by Programme Executive of Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Tura, Kamlesh Koch, who, in his address, spoke about the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He emphasised its mission to create a clean and hygienic India, urging citizens to recognise that “cleanliness is next to godliness.”
Koch also highlighted the collective responsibility of every citizen to maintain cleanliness in their homes, villages, offices and surroundings, thereby contributing to India’s transformation into an exemplary nation.
Further, he discussed the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, which, he added, reinforces the Swachh Bharat Mission’s goals of making India clean and garbage-free.
Some of the highlights of the programme included Swachhata Pledge and a cleanliness drive within the office campus.
