SHILLONG, Dec 27: A joint team of Meghalaya and Bihar Police is interrogating a suspect arrested in connection with the embezzlement of Rs 30 lakh from a petrol pump in Shillong.
According to the police, the interrogation is being conducted in Vaishali, Bihar, to identify and trace other individuals involved in the crime.
At the same time, efforts are under way to obtain a transit remand from a Vaishali court to bring the accused to Shillong for further investigation.
It may be mentioned that one Ram Slok Yadav, a native of Bihar, was apprehended on Wednesday night from Bidupur in Vaishali district.
The embezzlement came to light after it was discovered that Yadav, in collusion with the petrol pump manager, Raghuveer Singh, absconded with the aforesaid amount on December 15.
