SHILLONG, Dec 31: An NGO called Shubham Charitable Association organised an awareness programme at Laitlum, East Khasi Hills, promoting the Zero Waste Period Mission, emphasising on the importance of reusable sanitary pads for menstrual hygiene and environmental protection.
The event was attended distinguished guests as well as representatives from ASHA and local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the community.
Project Convenor Payal Bajaj stressed the need for adopting reusable sanitary pads to reduce waste and ensure better health for women. The programme concluded with a call for collective efforts towards sustainable menstrual hygiene practices, marking a significant step forward in achieving a Zero Waste Period.
