TURA, Jan 6: At least 13 shops were gutted in a fire that apparently started due to an electrical fault in the Dawa Nengatokgre market in the town of Williamnagar in East Garo Hills on Sunday night.
As per reports, East Garo Hills police were informed of the fire around midnight after which they swung into action.
Upon reaching the site of the incident, emergency personnel found that 13 shops in the market had already been gutted and took steps to control the inferno.
The fire was eventually doused after two hours. The fire is suspected to have been caused due to a short circuit. There were no reports of any injuries during the incident.
