State’s final publication of electoral rolls completed

SHILLONG/TURA/NONGPOH, Jan 6: The final publication of electoral rolls for multiple assembly constituencies across Meghalaya has been completed, with January 1, 2025, serving as the qualifying date.
In East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, and South West Khasi Hills districts, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) announced that the list of amendments to the draft electoral rolls has been published. Constituencies such as Mawryngkneng, Pynthorumkhrah, Mawlai, East Shillong, North Shillong, West Shillong, South Shillong, Mylliem, Nongthymmai, Nongkrem, Sohiong, Mawphlang, Mawsynram, Pynursla, and Mawkynrew in East Khasi Hills, and Mairang and Mawthadraishan in South West Khasi Hills, have their updated rolls available for public inspection at the respective ERO offices during office hours.
In Ri-Bhoi, the EROs of Mawhati, Nongpoh, Jirang, Umsning, and Umroi constituencies conducted a district-level function at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Nongpoh to mark the Special Summary Revision and Final Publication of Electoral Rolls. The event, attended by ADCs B Ranee and Raja Brahma, Assistant Commissioner EK Dkhar, and representatives of various political parties, included the distribution of finalised electoral rolls to political parties.
In Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, West Garo Hills, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Election) announced the completion of the final photo electoral rolls for the Dadenggre Assembly Constituency. The rolls are available for inspection at the Sub-Divisional Office and polling stations during office hours.
Similarly, in East Garo Hills, Deputy Commissioner Vibhor Aggarwal handed over the finalised electoral rolls for the assembly segments of Songsak, Rongjeng, and Williamnagar to representatives of political parties, including the NPP, AITC, and INC. The distribution ceremony, attended by ADCs, EACs, and BDOs, emphasised the procedures and significance of the electoral roll preparation process.
