Prez Murmu to inaugurate ICAR golden jubilee prog tomorrow

SHILLONG, Jan 7: President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) at Umiam, Ri-Bhoi on Thursday.
Chief Secretary DP Wahlang on Tuesday informed that the President will also inaugurate a Farmer’s Expo on the occasion.
The President will land at the Shillong Airport at Umroi at 11 am on Thursday and attend the programme at ICAR before returning to Guwahati at 2.25 pm. She will not be visiting Shillong, Wahlang added.
The President will interact with the farmers and self-help groups during the expo. She will be accompanied by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Governor CH Vijayashankar and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will also attend the programme at ICAR.
