Riwandahun Marwein has been awarded PhD in Biological Sciences by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Uttar Pradesh, and her work is carried out at CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, Assam. Her thesis is titled ‘Transcriptomics analysis of North East Indian rice cultivars in response to brown spot disease (BSD) and CRISPR/Cpf1 mediated functional analysis of BSD associated cysteine-rich receptor-like protein kinase (OsCRK) gene’, which she completed under the supervision of Dr. C. Chikkaputtaiah (Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam). She is the daughter of (L) TarcisiusWahlang and PhidolinMarwein, and a resident of Mawlangwir village, South West Khasi Hills.
