SHILLONG, Jan 18: The evening market at Ward’s Lake has made a comeback for its second edition, continuing its mission of promoting local artisans, sustainability and the scenic charm of one of Shillong’s most beloved landmarks.
Organised by Meghalayan Age and curated by Dakti Crafts, the market will run until March 29.
The opening day saw vibrant performances by local favourites, Blue Temptation, Leo Boy and reggae sensation Grassroots, setting an energetic tone for the weeks ahead.
This year, the market maintains its eco-conscious approach, featuring organic décor and repurposed stalls from last year’s Winter Tales festival.
A diverse range of entrepreneurs, including food and bakery vendors, farmers, indigenous tool makers, tattoo artists and wine producers, are showcasing their creativity through a rotational weekly schedule.
To ensure cleanliness, a dedicated waste management team and strategically placed bins have been introduced, reinforcing the event’s commitment to sustainability.
The market will be open from 5 pm to 9 pm between Mondays and Saturdays, with an entry fee of Rs 50.
